China's lithium ion batteries export reached a new high

  The Chinese lithium ion batteries industry has achieved astonishing growth for two consecutive years. According to the latest released Chinese customs data, the export value of lithium-ion batteries in China reached 342.656 billion yuan in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 86.7% and a historic high. In 2023, the growth momentum of China's lithium battery industry remains strong.

  From January to February this year, China exported 540 million lithium ion batteries, with an export value of 70.6 billion yuan, an increase of 97.99% year-on-year. This means that the export amount has almost doubled. The average export price of a single lithium-ion battery has also increased to 130.72 yuan, an increase of 125.77% compared to 57.90 yuan in the same period in 2022. These data demonstrate the strong competitiveness and brand influence of China's lithium battery industry in the international market.

  In the introduction by Lv Daliang, a spokesperson for the General Administration of Customs of China, the growth of lithium ion batteries exports is mainly driven by the demand in foreign electric vehicles and energy storage markets. The rapid development of electric vehicles and energy storage provides broad development space for the lithium battery industry. According to statistics, in the first quarter of this year, the export value of lithium batteries reached 109.79 billion yuan, with a growth rate of 94.3%. The increasing demand for high-performance lithium batteries abroad has further promoted the development of China's lithium battery industry.
